Screen EQUIOS now open to 3rd parties
Pictured here: Peter Scott, Managing Director of SCREEN GP Australia and New Zealand alongside the company’s new high-speed Truepress JET 560HDX reel-fed inkjet press, recently receiving formal recognition from the Printing United Alliance as a ‘Certified Digital Press System’, after also achieving an EDP (European Digital Press Association) Award at FESPA Barcelona (where the Truepress PAC 830F flexible packaging inkjet machine also took out an EDP Award).
At a recent presentation in Japan (at the JAGAT Topic Technical Seminar 2026), SCREEN Graphic Solutions introduced EQUIOS Open I/F (Open Interface), which now enables flexible integration between EQUIOS workflows – SCREEN’s long-established prepress print management platform – and external systems or third-party solutions.
Peter Scott, Managing Director of SCREEN GP Australia and New Zealand, says: “While we have worked with third-party systems for our customers in the past, this official policy of Open Interface will now enable them to access the considerable power of the EQUIOS platform. Ultimately, these benefits will contribute to higher productivity and better management outcomes for printing and packaging companies who use a mixture of output devices, including those with SCREEN devices too: this is a win-win for our customers.”
Traditionally reserved for SCREEN’s own equipment only, EQUIOS has continued to evolve from the original TrueFlow platform, as a simple-to-use and versatile operation system for all SCREEN output devices including its digital presses, proofers, variable data and CtP. EQUIOS Open I/F will now enable flexible integration between EQUIOS workflows and external systems or third-party solutions, thereby:
o enhancing workflow scalability and flexibility;
o improving visibility into job-level profitability;
o building automation across production processes;
o reducing operational costs and human errors.
