SCREEN picks up two EDP awards at FESPA
At the European Digital Press Association (EDP) Awards ceremony held last month at FESPA 2026 in Barcelona, SCREEN picked up two of the prestigious awards – one in the Commercial Printing category for its Truepress JET 560HDX and the other for its Truepress PAC 830F flexible packaging press.
Juan Cano, Business Development Director for Screen Europe, says: “As much as anything, this is a strong signal about the role inkjet can play in both commercial print and flexible packaging. For us, receiving the award for the Truepress JET 560HDX reflects the result of extensive development work by the entire SCREEN engineering team. This digital inkjet press has been designed to re-define commercial inkjet production across speed, quality, and workflow agility and for that work to be independently assessed and recognised by Europe’s leading print industry experts is a result we are extremely proud.”
The EDP Awards are organised annually by the European Digital Press Association, with entries judged by independent experts from 20 leading European trade publications against criteria including innovation, usability, productivity, quality, durability, overall equipment effectiveness, sustainability and value.
The Truepress JET 560HDX is Screen’s flagship high-speed, continuous-feed, digital inkjet press, that combines high-definition image quality, high productivity and ease of operation. The press handles substrates up to 560mm wide at speeds of 150m/min, and features newly developed drying and transport mechanisms, enabling it to serve as an alternative to offset printing in mainstream commercial applications. The press also uses the latest iteration of SCREEN ink – Truepress Ink SC2 – continuing to address one of the key challenges in high-speed inkjet-printing on offset coated paper. The high-density water-based ink is compatible with offset-coated, inkjet-coated, and uncoated substrates.
The Truepress PAC 830F targets industrial flexible packaging applications, printing on PET, BOPP and MDO-PE film substrates at speeds up to 75 m/min using food-compliant aqueous inks, with Screen’s Equios workflow software supporting short-run personalized packaging production.
The award was accepted on behalf of SCREEN GP Europe B.V. by Business Development Director Juan Cano and SCREEN Graphic Solutions Executive Officer Yoshinari Otani.
