MUTOH XpertJet 1681SR Pro scoops EDP Award at FESPA
In the wings of last month’s FESPA Global Print Expo in Barcelona, the European Digital Printing Association was busy delivering its prestigious EDP Awards to a handful of selected digital printing suppliers who had achieved heightened standards in innovation, quality and technological advancements in digital printing. Amongst the winners was the Mutoh XpertJet 1681SR Pro, recognised as the ‘Best Roll-to-Roll Printer <170 cm’ in the category of Large/Wide Format Printing Systems.
Whilst a senior representative from Mutoh Europe was on-site at FESPA to formally receive the award, news of the achievement received an enthusiastic affirmation closer to home. Russell Cavenagh, Managing Director of Mutoh Australia, says: “This isn’t just about recognition of the Mutoh XpertJet 1681SR Pro itself. This also talks to the broader achievement of Mutoh in the context of consistently producing products that deliver benefits to our customers through exceptional print quality, operational efficiency and high performance, so we’re obviously delighted to share the news with our local customers.”
“We see the fact that all Mutoh products are manufactured in Japan as a key differentiator too, especially when it comes to delivering technological innovations and consistent quality.”
Specifically recognised for its print quality, productivity and performance for sign and display work, Mutoh’s XpertJet 1681SR Pro printer is a next-generation 64” (1,625mm) eco-solvent roll-to-roll printer developed for professional sign & display production requiring consistent image quality, reliable operation and versatile day-to-day productivity. At the heart of the printer is the AccuFine HD Pro print head – a single-head piezo system with 3,200 nozzles across eight channels – engineered for accurate droplet placement and detailed image reproduction. Combined with MUTOH’s latest i-screen technology (i-Screen EX), the XpertJet 1681SR Pro is designed to support smoother gradations, controlled solid areas and stable output over extended production runs.
In Australia, the XpertJet 1681SR Pro is supplied with MUTOH genuine MS41 eco-solvent inks in an 8-colour configuration: CMYK + Light Cyan + Light Magenta + Light Key (black) + Orange. These inks are all GREENGUARD certified and the addition of Orange strengthens the warm colour expression, supporting more accurate brand colours and higher-impact graphics, while light inks help to deliver refined tonal transitions with reduced graininess – particularly beneficial for retail graphics, high-end signage and vehicle & fleet applications.
