By Tom Staiger

Tom Staiger was one of our representatives at this year’s FESPA in Munich. He has followed up his overall report on the show with this pictorial display of the 2010 Print Awards.

On prominent display at the entrance to this year’s FESPA fair in Munich the shortlisted FESPA Award print products were divided into two categories: digitally and screen printed.

Similar to the prints exhibited on many of the fair’s stands, the entries for the awards showed less prints originating from retail projects, than objects for decorative purposes. The overall quality of printing on show was very impressive, as was the variety of different materials:

Best scoring country with 19 gold, silver and bronze awards over 11 categories was Russia, followed by Switzerland, India and Thailand.

Nigel Steffens, FESPA’s Managing Director was clearly impressed. “This year we were delighted that the awards attracted more than 450 entries from members of FESPA’s national associations around the world. The jury, which consisted of technical screen and digital print experts, as

well as top industry editors, remarked on the high calibre of the entries, and the excellence of the screen printed entries was second-to-none.”
