Sihl Digital Imaging has introduced a new fine art paper for dye and pigmented inkjet printing.
12 April 2007
Sihl has launched 3975 / 3976 Umbra Fine Art Smooth 240 and 320 matte. They say it is a 100 percent cotton, acid-free art paper in a warm white finish (similar to traditional art papers), very suitable for fine art and photographic reproductions. Available in a medium and heavy weight, UMBRA is an opaque one-side coated artist paper compatible with all the latest fine art printersn. Archival claims with pigmented inks are for 55 years without protection and 85 years behind glass.
Umbra is targeted at monochrome photographic art where density, shadow, and depth are often lost with competitive products.
Both 3975 / 3976 Umbra Fine Art Smooth 240 and 320 matte are available in 17, 24, 36 and 44 inch width rolls by 40 feet long.
