This market is an established subset of the overall wide format printer market, due mainly to the success of low-end wide format inkjet printers that are used at least part time to print labels and, to a much smaller extent, folding cartons and flexible packaging. These low-end wide format printers are augmented by very much smaller numbers of mid-range and high-end wide format inkjet printers – devices whose cost, productivity, and primary applications make them much different from low-end wide format printers.
