Australians clock up over 2.1 tonnes of waste per person each year, one of the highest figures in the world.
Speaking about the benefits of business showing their support through Business Clean Up Day, Kiernan said: “It’s not just about the rubbish we collect on the day, it’s about creating an awareness of the importance of cleaning up, fixing up and conserving our environment. I cannot think of a better way for a business to build a strong team than to throw them a challenge where they can make a real difference.”
