Mimaki Australia expands UV Portfolio with UJV200-160
Mimaki Australia has announced the local introduction of the new Mimaki UJV200-160, expanding its 200 Series with a versatile UV solution tailored to the needs of Australian commercial print, sign and graphics businesses and designed to deliver high-quality output with ease of use.
Kohei Kobayashi, Managing Director for Mimaki Australia, says: “We’re seeing a clear shift in how local businesses are approaching print production and Australian print providers are increasingly placing greater value on flexibility and simplicity in their operations. The UJV200-160 has been developed for exactly this purpose: to make high-quality UV printing more accessible, allowing businesses to expand their offering without adding complexity.”
The UJV200-160 combines the benefits of UV printing, such as instant drying and broad media compatibility, with a streamlined workflow that enables prints to move directly into finishing or installation. This is particularly valuable for applications like signage, window graphics and retail displays, where speed and turnaround times are critical. At the core of the printer is a high-density print head derived from Mimaki’s advanced 330 Series technology, delivering smooth gradients, sharp fine lines and consistent solid colours across a wide range of applications. From detailed graphics to high-visibility information signage, the printer is engineered to reproduce designs with clarity and precision.
Jason Hay, National Sales Manager for Mimaki Australia, adds: “For many customers, consistency and ease of operation are just as important as output quality. The UJV200-160 simplifies production with automated adjustment features that reduce setup time and reliance on operator experience. That means businesses can achieve reliable results across different media types with greater efficiency.”
“This is about giving businesses the confidence to do more in general, including respond faster to customer demands and explore new revenue opportunities. The UJV200-160 delivers the capability to grow without overcomplicating production.”
The printer’s enhanced automatic image quality adjustment significantly reduces both setup time and media waste compared to previous models. Importantly, these adjustments can be performed across a variety of substrates, including coloured and transparent materials, ensuring stable output regardless of application.
Further expanding its capabilities, the UJV200-160 supports up to three-layer printing using white and clear inks. This enables the production of high-value applications such as window graphics, decals and labels, combining visual impact with functional design.
Kobayashi concludes: “Australian print providers are increasingly looking for ways to diversify their applications while maintaining control over costs and turnaround times. We’re confident that this printer fully supports that by offering a reliable, easy-to-use UV platform that can complement existing equipment or operate as a primary production device.”
The Mimaki UJV200-160 is expected to be available in Australia from May 2026.
