Environmental award for HP’s Latex printer
The HP Designjet L65500 Printer has been awarded the accolade for ‘Best Environmental Printer of the Year 2009,’ by the European Digital Press Association.
The award is for its ‘many environmental benefits to the market’. The printer also won ‘Best Wide Format Printer up to 3 metres’ and HP Latex Ink won ‘Best Inkjet Ink’.
Environmental factors were cited as key reasons for awarding both prizes. In a market generally served by Low-solvent printers, the HP Designjet L65500 Printer stands out because it creates odorless prints, and helps to improve the working environment for operators because it requires no special ventilation and uses HP Latex Inks, which do not require hazard labels. A range of recyclable HP signage media is available for the printer, and even some of the consumables are recyclable.
