X-Rite and EFI Announce Breakthrough Solution for Remote and High-end Proofing

EFI and X-Rite have announced a powerful combination of EFIs Bestcolor driven Colorproof XF highly scalable and versatile client/server-based software and X-Rites new Eye-One iSis, the precise, automated spectral chart reader enabling increased speed, accuracy and ease-of-use for customers executing high-end proofing, remote proofing, digital printing, photo processing and fine art printing.

Colorproof XF enables inkjet and laser printers to become proofing and production systems. Significant new features and enhancements launched with Version 3 include a new output option for gravure printers, a new production option for wide format production environments and the Fiery Option, which seamlessly integrates Fiery-driven digital output devices into the Colorproof XF workflow. The X-Rite automatic chart reader is based on the industry standard Eye-One technology and provides fast, precise measurement of reflective test charts, measuring a 1500 patches target in just eight minutes with an absolute minimum of effort and training. Using the iSis measuring device with Colorproof XF speeds the system set-up process. Linearisation and profiling, as well as calibration of the proofing system, can be done in an unprecedented timeframe and provide high quality results.

Barcode reading, for chart identification adds further ease of use and error safety
