ASGA calls for Awards judges to step forward
Having recently put out a call welcoming entries for the various 2026 ASGA National Sign & Graphics Awards categories, ASGA is now officially on the hunt for industry professionals to join the Judging Panel for its milestone 10th biennial competition, noting that judging expertise is required across a wide variety of industry disciplines.
Mick Harrold, ASGA President, says: “We have a total of 20 signage categories that cover the entire range of products our sector produces, and a further six special awards that recognise innovation, sustainability, innovation and the like. We are aiming to recruit four expert judges for each category, and obviously some judges will be able to provide expertise across a number of categories. The more judges we have, the fewer entries each judge has to review, and obviously the wider the range of expertise, the better we can really drill down to find the very best examples in each category.”
Judges are required for categories ranging from fabrication, to digital and illuminated signage, wide-format print and vehicle wraps, routing and engraving, and traditional brushwork and airbrushing. The only category where the winner is not decided by the judges per se is for the People’s Choice Award, where judges will select qualifying entries, but the final determination will be made according to votes cast at the Visual Impact Expo (2-3 September, Sydney Showground) ahead of the ASGA Awards presentation dinner at the same venue.
ASGA is calling for anyone interested in being a judge to send in a brief bio and Harrold adds: “The only qualification is that judges cannot participate in the judging for any categories they, or their business, has entered. The commitment is for a few hours of time during June and July to review entries and provide input towards deciding the winners.”
To be eligible for entry into the 2026 ASGA National Sign & Graphics Awards, projects must have been completed between 1st June 2024 and 4th June 2026 and all entries must be received before 5pm on Friday 5th June, 2026 (no late entries accepted). ASGA thanks its Award sponsors, including Gold Sponsors Spandex, ORAFOL and Avery Dennison, and Bronze Sponsors Currie Group, HP and SMIB.
