Jet Technologies ensures local stock availability during potential photoinitiator shortage
The plant shutdown of an important UV Ink precursor has companies worried about inkjet and UV LED ink supply, as well as major coatings.
The photoinitiators in question are TPO and TPO-L, which are used for UV Flexo, UV Screen, Inkjet & UV LED inks. There are only a handful of companies that produce the precursor needed for TPO and TPO-L. One of these major producers has been shut down by the Chinese government.
Due to the resulting potential shortage of photoinitiators – as reported by the European Printing Ink Association (EuPIA) – Jet Technologies has readjusted their stock holdings to ensure availability throughout the shortage. It is a common concern that the local supply chain will be heavily impacted, however with a strong team of logistics and import professionals, Jet Technologies is ensuring a mitigated risk for local UV ink supply.
