drupa 2016 Preview – Kodak to possibly re-enter the wide format market
2 March 2016
The UK’s Printweek is reporting that Kodak have developed a new continuous printhead, which they are calling Ultrastream, a printhead the company is describing as a 4th generation printhead.
Printweek has reported on a presentation by Philip Cullimore, Kodak’s president of inkjet enterprise systems.
Ultrastream would have applications across many print sectors, including wide format – up to 2.5 metre in width.
However it was important to note that Mr Cullimore said that in all likelyhood the company would market the new print head via other OEM,s. It aims to sign up partners at drupa 2016.
The long timers in the industry will remember the Kodak wide format models that followed their take over of Encad back in 2002.
