Memjet in the wide format market moves a step closer with WinJet Vortex machines
The high speed MemJet technology that has been touted to revolutionise the inkjet printing industry has moved a step closer to reality in the wide format industry with the launch of the Winjet Vortex machines in the UK and the US.
Reprographic Technology International (RTI) in the UK, is a well established supplier of consumables to the industry but has now created a new division for hardware and launched the MemJet powered WinJet Vortex 4200 a 1,060mm-wide machine capable of producing 1,100sqm/hr.
The comapny will be targeting the CAD and display markets with this new product.
A representative of RTI ha stated that the new machine will be extremely competitively priced as well as offering lower operating costs.
Drupa last year saw some MemJet Beta offerings from both Océ and Fuji Xerox but nothing has been commercially available from these companies as yet.
