New optically clear UV printable adhesive media for glazing enhancement is released
Starleaton Digital Solutions has announced an all-new Optically Clear Gloss Polyester film for application to the inside of glass.
“Our new Optically Clear PE film, under our Helix brand, has remarkable printing qualities using UV cured printing with the white ink option,” says Starleaton General Manager Ben Eaton.
“Additionally, Helix Optically Clear PE filters 99% of UV light and is scratch resistant while retaining the see-through properties of the glazing, but enabling graphical enhancement with vibrant advertising, decoration or messaging.”
Helix Optically Clear PE is available in 1520mm rolls and has a clear peelable carrier film which reveals the perfectly clear adhesive coated layer. Graphics are reverse-printed and applied to the interior of the glass which is sprayed with water prior to application to enable easy re-positioning, then squeegeed off when the graphic is in place.
Eaton is enthusiastic about the prospects for Helix Optically clear, saying: “This material is as clear as the glass it is applied to, so the substrate does not dominate the beauty of the glazing. The UV printed graphics appear to be have been printed on the glass itself, but can be peeled off when a change is required – or a return to plain glass.”
