Gerber launches instant metallic foil

Gerber has launched GerberColor Foil, Silver Medal II, which enables sign and graphics producers to print on top of metallic silver foil.

The new metallic effect is simple to achieve. The Edge operator prints the Silver Medal II foil first, then prints over it with one (or more) of the Gerber transparent foils. With the right design and colour combinations, it’s possible to achieve metallic, watermark, and other special effects.

By printing Gerber transparent foils on top of Silver Medal II using the Gerber Edge, it is possible to instantly achieve a metallic effect in as many as eleven colours. Spot and process colours may be printed on top of Silver Medal II as well, which introduces an even wider range of design options. The possibilities are limited only by the imagination of the designer.
